The Role
Our high-performing Finance team has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join us in Bristol.
The role will provide an efficient and customer-focused payables service, ensuring effective and accurate processing of invoices.
What You'll Be Doing
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes
- Ensure timely payment runs in line with agreed payment terms
- Maintain and reconcile the Accounts Payable ledger
- Handle queries from suppliers and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Support month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of supplier accounts
- Liaise with the development team to ensure accurate coding of project-related invoices
- Support year-end audit by providing requested documentation and reports
- Continuously review and improve AP processes for efficiency
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to enable accurate processing of invoices and timely/accurate settlement. Escalate where necessary.
- Follow Data Protection policies, keeping information confidential and secure, to ensure data is protected and handled appropriately in line with legislative requirements.
- Support with any audit queries as required
- Maintain and update procedure documentation
- Provide management information to support business decisions
- Clear the prepayment log to ensure nothing remains at month-end
- Work with stakeholders and budget holders to confirm/verify liabilities
What We're Looking for in You
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service
- Ability to work at a fast pace with high accuracy
- Comfortable working within a changing environment, managing priorities effectively
- Strong IT skills, including Excel
