Meridian Business Support is recruiting an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting across a multi-site garden centre group. You will manage a four-person accounts team, handling month-end, reconciliations, and financial controls with hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on accounts background with month-end processes and reconciliations.
• Experience with double-entry bookkeeping.
• Proven leadership skills and team management experience.
• Excellent Excel and Sage experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day accounts function across four companies
• Leading and supporting the existing accounts team
• Month-end processes, trial balances and reconciliations
• Investigating discrepancies and variances
• Managing sales, purchases, cash, banking and stock transactions
• Monthly payroll and VAT records
• Supporting cash flow management and financial reporting
• Maintaining strong financial controls and processes
• Liaising with colleagues across the wider business and multiple sites
