Job summary

RG Consultancy are recruiting an experienced Accounts Manager for a growing SME. You will oversee day-to-day finance, ensure accurate reporting, strong controls and cash management while supporting growth. Hybrid working with flexible hours and private healthcare.

Reporting to the Financial Director, you will manage ledgers, month-end, management accounts and liaise with external accountants. A hands-on, independent operator with SME experience and AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualifications is ideal.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Accounts Manager, Finance Manager or Senior Accounts role.
• Strong SME accounts experience and month-end knowledge.
• Experience overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control.
• AAT qualified, ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or qualified by experience.
• Strong Excel and accounting systems knowledge.
• Commercially aware, organised and detail-focused.
• Confident communicator across the business.
• Hands-on and able to work independently.
• Experience in IT, technology or service-based business advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function.
• Manage purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control.
• Take ownership of the month-end process, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L reports and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and debtor balances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, VAT returns and financial controls.
• Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Provide financial information and support to the Financial Director.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.

RG Consultancy are working with an established and growing SME who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Manager.

Reporting directly to the Financial Director, this is a hands-on, varied role overseeing the day-to-day finance function. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the smooth running of the accounts department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and effective cash management, while supporting the business's continued growth.
