Job summary

Harvey John in Hove, East Sussex, is seeking a Finance Manager for a hybrid role that sits at the heart of a growing, SME-style business. You will own the finance function, deliver management accounts, cash flow forecasting, payroll, VAT returns, and CIS payments, while driving process improvements.

The role offers flexible hours (9-5) with on-site parking and the option to work from home up to two days per week, with potential progression toward FC/FD roles.

Qualifications

• Experience of CIS/Subcontractor payments.
• Experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts (even if on a small scale).
• Varied finance experience within an SME environment.
• Experience using Xero.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to join a growing, ambitious business and “own” the finance function.

It is a stand alone role within a “startup” type environment, where you’ll be owning the following duties…

• Management accounts
• Cash flow Forecasting
• Running Payroll
• VAT Returns
• CIS Payments
• Purchase and Sales Ledger activities

This would suit an ambitious individual, who wants to kick on and has future FC/FD aspirations.

The ideal candidate will…

• Have experience of CIS/ Subcontractor payments
• Have experience of preparing VAT returns and management accounts (even if on a small scale)
• Have varied finance experience, gained within an SME environment
• Have used Xero previously
• Be analytical, with a knack for improving processes and systems
