Job summary

RG Consultancy are currently working with a fantastic growing SME in Wilmslow who are recruiting a Management Accountant to join their small finance team. You will support the Financial Director in day-to-day running of the finance function and help maintain accurate financial information.

In this role you will take ownership of monthly management accounts, prepare journals, assist budgeting and cash flow, and support audits.

Qualifications

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or studying would be an advantage.
• Previous work experience within a management accountant or similar financial management role.
• Strong IT skills including SAP and MS Excel; experience with AI systems would be an advantage.
• Experience working within an IT/technology/software business would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the monthly management accounts and month-end process.
• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Analyse financial performance, investigate variances and provide meaningful insights.
• Manage the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Support year-end accounts preparation and external audits.
• Work closely with the Finance Director and wider business to support financial decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support on business projects.
