Job summary

RG Consultancy partners with a growing company to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant. You will report to the financial controller and support month-end processes, ledgers, and reconciliations in a hybrid Wirral environment.

The role suits an AAT qualified or studying candidate, with confidence using SAGE and Excel, and an eye for detail in dispute resolution and variances.

• Experience in accounts with focus on sales and purchase ledgers.
• Month-end responsibilities and journal posting experience desirable.
• AAT qualified or studying preferred but not essential.

RG Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with a successful company to help recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant. Reporting directly to the financial controller, this is a brilliant opportunity for a dynamic AAT qualified/ studying candidate to join a supportive team and further their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end processes


• Assisting with accruals and pre-payments


• Preparing and posting journals


• Manage all sales and purchase ledger procedures


• Managing aged debt reports


• Assisting with credit control and resolving customer queries


• Investigating discrepancies and ensuring outstanding items are resolved promptly


• Statement reconciliations


• Preparing payment runs


• Liaising with suppliers to resolve discrepancies


• Daily and monthly bank reconciliations


• Investigating and resolving variances


• Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role


• Strong knowledge of sales and purchase ledger processes


• Confident using accounting software; SAGE, Excel


• AAT studier (desirable but not essential)
