Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About Us:
Our client, a thriving business located near the end of the M55 is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals at all levels of experience to advance their career in accounting and finance within a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Accounts Assistant, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Posting accruals and prepayments.
  • Checking and coding invoices and employee expenses.
  • Recording all non-allowable expenses to assist in the completion of the PAYE Settlement.
  • Ensuring compliance with VAT rules and regulations.
  • Utilising Excel for various accounting tasks and data analysis.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of VAT rules and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Relevant accounting qualifications or working towards one (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) will be considered a plus.
