Job summary

Paul Rigby Ltd in Birmingham is seeking an Apprentice Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This full-time, permanent apprenticeship offers hands-on training in day-to-day accounting activities, with structured development within a supportive workplace.

You will assist with invoices, ledgers and expense records, gaining exposure to our accounting software and financial reports while building essential numerical and organisational skills for a career in accountancy.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or higher.
• Interest in accountancy with willingness to learn.
• Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Positive attitude and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and purchase orders accurately.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and ledgers.
• Maintain records of expenses and data entry.
• Support month-end and year-end procedures.
• Communicate with suppliers and internal teams.
• Prepare simple financial reports as needed.
• Learn accounting software and systems used by the company.
• Support process improvements within finance.
