Job summary

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an Accounting Technician to support financial reporting, reconciliations and capital budgeting. The role reports to the Revenue Accountant and offers a permanent, full-time position with a 37-hour week at our Service Headquarters in Leicestershire.

The candidate will have an AAT or equivalent qualification, with experience in a finance function (preferably local government).

Qualifications

• AAT or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a finance department, ideally in local government finance.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build great working relationships and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead on reconciliations including payroll, VAT, balance sheet and bank; assist with year-end accounts and audit.
• Develop knowledge of the finance system and assist with ongoing maintenance.
• Support capital budgeting and report production.
