Job summary

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an Accounting Technician to join our finance team. Reporting to the Revenue Accountant, you will lead on financial reporting, support with systems maintenance and capital budgeting, and help ensure accurate year-end accounts.

Qualifications

• You should hold an AAT or equivalent qualification, with experience in a finance department ideally in a local government finance setting.
• You will be a confident communicator who is able to foster great working relationships with a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Complete reconciliations, examples including payroll, VAT, balance sheet and bank.
• Support with completing the year end accounts and audit.
• Develop knowledge of the finance system and support with ongoing maintenance.
• Support with capital budgeting and report production.
