Job summary

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an Accounting Technician to support financial reporting and finance system maintenance. Reporting to the Revenue Accountant, you will lead on reconciliations and assist with year end accounts and the audit process.

You will develop knowledge of the finance system, support capital budgeting, and contribute to report production in a public sector environment with strong governance and safeguarding commitments. Hybrid working may be considered.

Qualifications

• AAT or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience in a finance department, ideally local government finance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete reconciliations (payroll, VAT, balance sheet and bank).
• Support year end accounts and audit.
• Develop knowledge of the finance system and ongoing maintenance.
• Support capital budgeting and report production.
