Job summary

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service in Leicestershire is seeking an Accounting Technician to lead on financial reporting, reconciliations, and capital budgeting support within a public sector finance team. Reporting to the Revenue Accountant, you will help maintain finance systems and assist with year-end processes.

Qualifications

• You should hold an AAT or equivalent qualification, with experience in a finance department ideally in a local government finance setting.
• You will be a confident communicator who is able to foster great working relationships with a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Complete reconciliations, examples including payroll, VAT, balance sheet and bank.
• Support with completing the year end accounts and audit.
• Develop knowledge of the finance system and support with ongoing maintenance.
• Support with capital budgeting and report production.
