Job summary

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an Accounting Technician to join our finance team and support revenue accounting and financial reporting. Reporting to the Revenue Accountant, you will lead on reconciliations, assist with year end, and help monitor capital budgeting while maintaining financial systems.

Qualifications

• AAT or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience in a finance department, ideally in local government finance, is preferred.
• Confident communicator with ability to foster strong working relationships and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Complete reconciliations, including payroll, VAT, balance sheet, and bank.
• Support the year end accounts and audit.
• Develop knowledge of the finance system and ongoing maintenance.
• Support with capital budgeting and report production.
