Job summary

Butler Rose Recruitment is seeking an experienced Manager – Accounting Services to lead a dynamic Birmingham team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality client service, supervising a mix of senior and junior staff, and ensuring timely completion of accounting work in a practice environment.

You will oversee annual accounts, maintain technical standards, support clients with software setup, and collaborate with other departments to drive efficiency and development of the department.

Qualifications

• ICAEW or ACCA qualification and strong accounting knowledge.
• Experience reviewing accounts in an accountancy practice.
• Experience leading and developing accounting staff.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for a mixed senior/junior accounting team.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations with other managers.
• Manage a portfolio of client accounting work and ensure deadlines.
• Oversee preparation and review of annual accounts and related work.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and firm procedures.
• Assist clients with accounting software setup and issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to deliver client services.
