The position offers flexibility with location and working patterns, and requires robust technical accounting expertise and a proactive approach to improving department processes.

Qualifications

• ICAEW/ACCA qualification is required.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing accounts within an accountancy practice environment.
• Experience leading accounting staff and managing client portfolios and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse team including apprentices and other staff.
• Collaborate with Managers to run day-to-day accounting operations smoothly.
• Manage a varied client portfolio and ensure timely, accurate work.
• Oversee preparation and review of annual accounts and complex issues.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and firm procedures.
• Assist clients with accounting software setup and general issues.
• Develop cross-department collaboration to improve service delivery.
• Contribute to process improvements for efficiency and client service.
• Support during tax preparation and regulatory reporting.
• Partner with Accounting Services leadership to develop the department.
