Job summary

Regional Recruitment is seeking an Accountant for a Leicester-based, permanent, full-time role. You will manage a varied client portfolio, prepare accounts and year-end financial statements, and handle VAT returns with guidance from the team.

Fully qualified Accountant with at least 2 years’ practice experience, strong communication and organisational skills are essential for success in a supportive, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Accountant with professional certification (CIMA/ACCA preferred).
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practice-based accounting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Complete year-end accounts and financial statements.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and other statutory submissions.
• Provide clients with accounting advice and support.
• Liaise directly with clients to understand requirements and resolve queries.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Maintain knowledge of current accounting standards and legislation.
• Support the wider practice team with related duties.
