Job description

A well-established, market-leading business operating across a UK and international network is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its finance team based in Leicester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong qualified accountant with industry experience who enjoys financial reporting, statutory accounting, controls, compliance and supporting business decision-making within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining a strong control environment and supporting both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Lead balance sheet reconciliations and ensure robust financial controls are maintained.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Assist with statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant accounting standards.
• Review and enhance financial controls, processes and reporting accuracy.
• Partner with commercial and operational teams to provide financial insight and technical accounting support.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities where required.

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven Financial Accountant experience gained within industry.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and statutory reporting.
• Experience working within a multi-site, asset-intensive or service-led environment would be advantageous.
• Strong month-end, balance sheet and audit experience.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.

£60,000 to £65,000 plus full benefits package, Hybrid working 2-3 days office based in Leicester
