Job summary

Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join an established accountancy practice based in Leicester.

Prepare accounts for a varied portfolio of clients, complete year-end accounts and VAT returns, and provide accounting advice while liaising directly with clients to understand requirements and meet deadlines. This is a full-time, permanent role offering up to £50,000 DOE.

The role offers a professional and supportive working environment within a busy practice.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Accountant with at least 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice
• CIMA/ACCA preferred but AAT considered with strong practice experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong accounting knowledge and deadline-driven
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients is desirable

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
• Complete year-end accounts and financial statements
• Prepare and review VAT returns and other statutory submissions
• Provide clients with accounting advice and support
• Liaise directly with clients to understand requirements and resolve queries
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and within deadlines
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and legislation
• Support the wider practice team with accounting and client-related duties

Qualifications

Essential:

• Fully qualified Accountant, CIMA/ACCA is preferred but can also consider AAT with strong practice experience
• Minimum 2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practice-based accounting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines

Desirable:

• Experience managing a portfolio of clients
• Experience with accounting software and relevant practice systems
