Holdsworth Foods is a leading food distribution business known for exceptional service and high-quality products. We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and service-oriented Account Manager to join our team as we continue to grow.

The Role

This role involves opening new accounts, building the customer base, and ensuring sales across our product range to meet targets and profit margins. The position covers the Peterborough and Northampton area, requiring regular travel and occasional depot visits for team meetings.

  1. Develop new business and strengthen existing accounts through new products, marketing, and promotions.
  2. Ensure efficient territory coverage to meet sales and profit goals.
  3. Represent the full product range, pricing, and discounts confidently.
  4. Plan daily activities to maximize customer visits and route profitability.
  5. Maintain accurate customer records, including sales history.
  6. Monitor account credit status and liaise with Accounts as needed.
  7. Report on competitor activity and market intelligence.
  8. Maintain strong communication with the Tele Sales team.
  9. Handle ad-hoc tasks such as attending exhibitions, resolving customer complaints, and supporting projects.

Personal Specification

  • Proven success in consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets in a sales-driven environment.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in Foodservice sales or Food Catering.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Interest in food and food trends.
