Overview of role

As a SEO Account Director, you will:

  1. Drive the SEO Strategy, delivering performance and growth for our clients.
  2. Oversee the delivery of client SEO campaigns to ensure best practice, innovation, and excellence across all activities – including strategy, planning, implementation, and reporting.
  3. Review key client-facing documentation, reports, and presentations before they are sent to clients.
  4. Produce strategic and insightful analysis to define long-term organic strategies for our clients, capitalizing on emerging technologies, trends, and innovations to give us a competitive edge.
  5. Use your SEO experience to support team members within their roles.
  6. Manage and develop team members, delegating tasks accordingly.
  7. Act as a mentor to team members, ensuring training needs are identified and met.
  8. Stay updated with industry changes and lead knowledge-sharing sessions within your team.
Reporting of the role

You will report to the SEO Director.

Responsibilities of the role
Business:
  • Ensure clients and the team are informed about the performance of strategies and tactics.
  • Manage client budgets and ensure timely financial activities.
  • Provide optimal solutions for clients within their requirements and budgets.
  • Collaborate with client service teams to devise SEO strategies reviewed quarterly.
  • Support new business efforts through RFP responses and meetings.
  • Celebrate successes and develop case studies and award entries.
People:
  • Manage a team of SEO Account Managers and Executives, ensuring manageable workloads.
  • Monitor and assist in workload prioritization.
  • Develop team members' skills through training, mentoring, and self-learning.
  • Ensure staff are aware of their responsibilities and roles.
  • Manage campaign delivery within a defined framework.
What you will need
  • Excellent knowledge of SEO, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, and link building/analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communication and mentorship.
  • Ability to brief other teams effectively, such as content, Digital PR, and CRO.
  • Attention to detail and diligence in meeting deadlines.
  • High motivation and ability to deliver work to a high standard.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize based on client demands.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial understanding for scope of work and client briefs.
