Senior IBM Account Manager – Mainframe Solutions (zOS / Z-series)

Location: Fully Remote

Chapman Tate Associates is proud to be working in partnership with a leading IT Services provider, currently undergoing a strategic growth phase across their division. As part of this expansion, we are looking for a Senior IBM Account Manager with a proven track record of success in selling IBM Mainframe solutions—specifically around zOS and Z-series platforms.

This is a high-impact, client-facing role for an experienced sales professional who thrives on building relationships, unlocking new business, and driving enterprise-scale transformation deals.

As a Senior IBM Account Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving revenue through the sale of IBM Mainframe technologies (zOS / Z-series) and associated services.
  • Managing and expanding a portfolio of enterprise and public sector accounts.
  • Leading end-to-end sales cycles—from opportunity identification through to negotiation and close.
  • Building strategic relationships with IBM and internal technical teams to deliver tailored client solutions.
  • Staying ahead of market trends and understanding the evolving landscape of enterprise compute solutions.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Proven track record of selling IBM Mainframe solutions (zOS, Z-series).
  • Strong knowledge of the mainframe ecosystem, licensing, and IBM partnership models.
  • Experience working within or selling to large enterprise or public sector clients.
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven with a consultative approach to solution selling.
  • Experience working for or with IBM Business Partners or Systems Integrators.
  • Knowledge of complementary technologies in the enterprise infrastructure space (e.g., storage, backup, cloud, or HPC).
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud integration around IBM Power or zCloud solutions.
