Account Director is responsible for working directly with key customers to enhance their overall experience with HireRight, focusing on customer retention, product and service optimization, and ensuring services are ordered as expected/what has been sold. The role primarily manages enterprise-level customers, including multi-national clients with broad product usage, typically supporting accounts with annual revenue between $700k and $3MM.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall customer relationship, including communications, expectations, key stakeholder relationships, sponsorship, and governance.
- Establish a trusted adviser relationship to ensure customer satisfaction with our products and services.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and the customer, communicating features, processes, and roadmaps, and developing account success plans outlining critical success factors, success metrics, key stakeholders, potential issues, trends, and providing recommendations.
- Coordinate with Implementation Services to facilitate transitions after initial or re-implementations.
- Monitor and facilitate customer adoption of services and time to revenue.
- Leverage customer relationships for advocacy, user groups, case studies, and references.
- Keep customers informed of process and procedural changes.
- Identify opportunities for optimization to ensure appropriate feature and service utilization based on risk mitigation profiles.
- Continuously assess customer business health through analytics, KPIs, and meetings.
- Ensure customers utilize available materials, training, user groups, and communications.
- Understand the competitive landscape within the customer organization.
- Navigate within HireRight to harness internal resources for positive engagement and loyalty.
- Operate effectively within a global, matrix environment.
- Mentor Key Account Managers and Senior Key Account Managers.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of Account Management or Sales experience in a large company with 1,000+ employees, working with complex, large-scale customers.
Knowledge & Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of a technical discipline or area.
- Basic understanding of interdepartmental relationships within the company.
- Clear understanding of roles within own area.
Scope of Impact:
- Lead small project teams with manageable risks and resources.
- Advise middle management on functional matters and policy interpretation.
- Monitor costs and manage budgets for small projects or programs.
- Train professional staff as needed.
Strategic Planning:
- Identify and adapt solutions to complex or undefined problems independently.
- Solve complex issues and consider new perspectives using existing solutions.
- Make decisions requiring interpretive thinking and judgment based on factual and fundamental principles.
Customer Focus:
- Anticipate and respond to customer needs, modifying practices as necessary.
- Adjust communication style to effectively engage different audiences.
- Persuade others to adopt ideas or initiatives.
