Job summary

St Bede's Catholic Voluntary Academy in Scunthorpe seeks a dedicated teaching assistant to support pupils aged 11–16. You will help students catch up academically and work across KS3 (and KS4 when needed), collaborating with teachers to plan differentiated interventions and track progress.

The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, during term time (8:30am–4pm). You will join a supportive school community that prioritises student well-being and inclusive education.

• Experience of working with young people aged 11–16.

If you have experience of working with young people aged 11 - 16 and if you are passionate about shaping young lives and making a real difference in the classroom, we invite you to apply for this new role at St Bede's.

You will have a talent for engaging children and you thrive in a nurturing and supportive environment .

You will be working with children who are struggling to meet their target grades and provide academic support to allow them to catch up.

This role will have a focus on key stage 3, but may also include some students at KS4 - you will work flexibly across all age groups and abilities.

There will be opportunities to develop your career within the school which allows you to make a valued contribution to our children's learning.

This is a permanent role starting from October 2026. You will be working for 35 hours per week (8:30am - 4pm), term time only.
