Job summary

Cornwall Council is seeking a dedicated AAC clinician to support children and young people with speech, language and communication needs across Cornwall. The role involves managing your own caseload, equipment setup and training families and education staff on AAC tools.

You will work collaboratively with Speech and Language Therapists in a county-wide post covering Mid and East Cornwall. Applicants should be comfortable with IT, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
• Experience working with children with speech, language and communication needs.
• Ability to learn new IT/software and work with educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload of children; oversee setup, loan and maintenance of AAC equipment.
• Deliver training to families and adults in education settings on AAC software/hardware.
• Collaborate with SLTs to assess, recommend and implement AAC solutions.
• Maintain diary and work independently while contributing as part of a multidisciplinary team; county-wide across Mid/East Cornwall.
