Job summary

Veolia UK is recruiting for a 7.5T Driver to join our team in the UK. You will drive to planned collection locations, load waste, and support vehicle operations while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:30, with opportunities for training and development within Veolia’s extensive benefits. A strong team player with local knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7.5T Licence required.
• Excellent communication skills essential.
• Strong time management skills essential.
• Local geographical knowledge highly desirable.
• Prior experience in the waste industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and load waste.
• Load waste on non-driving days as required.
• Operate 7.5T waste vehicles to support service.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and record work notes.
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws and maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team to ensure all-round information is captured daily.
• Clean up any spillages and ensure vehicle is tidy at shift end.
• Accurately complete paperwork and report accidents to depot management.

Salary: £31,807.23 (£15.25 per hour), plus Veolia benefits

What you'll be doing;

Driving to planned collection locations and loading waste into the vehicle.

You will be expected to load if you are not driving on any particular day.

Driving 7.5 Waste Vehicles to support the service.

Complete daily checks of the vehicle and use the onboard technology to complete work notes.

Comply with all traffic laws and legislation and ensure their work environment is safe and clean at all times.

Working closely with your team to ensure that all-round information is completed daily from your onboard service.

Ensuring that Veolia complies with their contractual obligations eg any spillages are cleaned up.

Ensuring the vehicle is tipped, washed and the cab is left clear of litter, uniform and personal items at the end of your shift.

Accurately complete paperwork.

Report any accidents to depot management.

What we’re looking for;

7.5T Licence

Ability to work well as a team member, with excellent communication skills.

Strong time management skills are essential

Local geographical knowledge is highly desirable.

Prior Experience in the waste industry
