Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Leicester area. We are looking for multiple 7.5 Tonne drivers to join the team.

Hours are Monday to Friday starting at 08:00. This temp-to-perm role requires loading/unloading parcels, accurate status updates, and strict adherence to safety and working time regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid UK driving licence with 7.5 tonne entitlement (CAT C1).
• At least 1 year of experience driving 7.5 tonne vehicles.
• DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card valid.
• No more than 6 points on licence; minor offences only.
• Know WTD legislation.

Responsibilities

• 6-8 deliveries and 4-5 collections daily.
• Load own vehicle and unload parcels at depots/customer locations.
• Manual handling required during loading/unloading.
• Use devices and company software to update delivery statuses.
• Carry out pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations and company policies for safety.
• Communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

The role:

• 6-8 deliveries and 4-5 collections.
• Drivers will be required to locate parcels and load own vehicle prior to departure and unload at the end of the day.
• Manual handling heavily involved including loading and unloading parcels at depots and customer locations.
• Handling devices and company software to update delivery statuses.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring road worthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

• Full UK licence with 7.5 tonne entitlement (CAT C1).
• 1 year experience required.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
