Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of our client in the York area for multiple 7.5 Tonne drivers. Role includes deliveries, loading/unloading, and updating statuses. Monday–Friday 09:00 starts; location York, YO26; pay £16.05 PAYE per hour; temporary to permanent contract.

Full UK licence with 7.5 tonne entitlement, 1 year experience, DCPC and Tachograph card required, and no more than 6 points. Strong safety mindset and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK licence with 7.5 tonne entitlement (CAT C1).
• At least 1 year driving experience required.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliveries and collections.
• Manual handling including loading and unloading parcels at depots and customer locations.
• Using devices and company software to update delivery statuses.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensure vehicle roadworthiness.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company policies for safety on the road.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00am starts

Pay Rates: £16.05 PAYE Per Hour

Location: York, YO26

Job Type: Temp to perm

The role:

• Deliveries and collections.
• Manual handling heavily involved including loading and unloading parcels at depots and customer locations.
• Handling devices and company software to update delivery statuses
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring road worthiness and compliance with company standards.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:
