Job summary

Restore plc is seeking a 3.5T Van Driver - Secure Collections Operative in the UK. The role combines professional driving with hands-on collection work, gathering confidential materials from customer sites and transporting them securely for destruction.

It involves daily routes, handling materials, and ensuring high security and customer service standards. The position offers a Monday–Friday pattern, 45 hours, no weekends or night shifts, and a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (Essential).
• Comfort with manual handling and hands-on work.
• Reliable, organised and safety-conscious.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work independently and manage daily routes.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5T vehicle on planned collection routes.
• Collect confidential documents, paper waste, IT equipment and secure materials.
• Load, move and handle collection bags and containers.
• Move between collection points, possibly using stair access.
• Use a PDA to record collections and customer information.
• Complete vehicle checks and report defects.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent Restore Datashred professionally.
• Maintain security and confidentiality of materials.

About The Role

Role: 3.5T Van Driver- Secure Collection & Manual Handling Role
Location: Optima Park DA1 4QX
Salary: £30,518.29 + £250 Quarterly Bonus
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 45 hours (No Weekends or Night Shifts)
Contract type: Permanent

This isn't your typical driving role. As a 3.5T Van Driver -Secure Collections Operative, you'll combine professional driving with hands‑oncollections work, collecting confidential materials from customer sites andtransporting them securely for destruction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Driving a 3.5T vehicle and completing planned collection routes
• Collecting confidential documents, paper waste, IT equipment, WEEE, DMR and secure materials
• Loading, moving and handling collection bags and containers as part of your daily duties
• Working across customer sites, which may involve walking between collection points and using stair access
• Using a PDA to record collections and customer information
• Completing vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Providing excellent customer service and acting as a professional company representative
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of customer materials

About you:

• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
• Someone who enjoys a manual handling and hands-on role (Essential)
• Reliable, organised and safety-conscious
• Great communication and customer service skills (Essential)
• Able to work independently and manage daily routes effectively (Essential)
• Committed to maintaining high standards of security and confidentiality (Essential)

Please note:

This is an active role that includes regular lifting and moving of collection sacks and containers throughout the working day. Training and equipment will be provided to support safe manual handling practices.
