Job summary

Fujitsu in Stevenage is seeking a 2nd Line WINTEL Engineer to join a UK-based team responsible for Windows server builds, patching, and capacity management. The role emphasizes on-site, hands-on engineering with VMware-hosted environments and close collaboration with customers and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will manage service desk work, maintain security and change processes, and contribute to project work across regional sites. On-site presence and security vetting are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and related services.
• Proficient in Active Directory, DNS, and WSUS.
• Experience with VMware virtualization and backup technologies (NetApp/Cohesity).
• Knowledge of Microsoft System Centre Operations and scripting skills.

Responsibilities

• Review Windows-related work requests and provide quick, detailed requirements.
• Build images, docs, and work instructions; configure Windows Servers (VMware-hosted).
• Patch and upgrade Windows servers; manage capacity reporting and SLA/KPI compliance.
• Attend bi-weekly engineering meetings; raise risks and issues; assist in testing activities.
