Job summary

Dematic’s Global Software Organisation in the UK is seeking a capable 2nd line software support engineer. You will deliver 2nd line support to customers, document cases with solutions, and collaborate on software projects across global teams. The role includes on-call duties and potential travel to customer sites.

The ideal candidate has Java development experience, knowledge of WMS/WCS, and confidence working with Oracle databases, with strong communication skills to resolve challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java software development.
• Experience in a 2nd line IT or software support function.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management/Execution systems is beneficial.
• Confident handling of databases (Oracle).
• Willingness to share 24/7 on-call duties with the team.

Responsibilities

• Delivering 2nd line support services for both new and long-term existing customers.
• Carrying out software support including documentation of incoming service cases including a description of solutions.
• Collaborate with functional departments on software projects and provide insightful feedback.
• Support international project commissioning and after-go-live support.
• Service support for existing customers.
• Provide software development for WCS, MFC and OFS systems (PTL, PbV).
• Handle change request processing for existing customers.
