Job summary

Blenheim Schools seeks a 2nd Line IT Service Desk Site Engineer to join the IT team at Huddersfield Grammar. You will provide expert support across on-site and remote users, ensuring systems, devices, networks and cloud services run efficiently for daily productivity.

Based mainly at the Huddersfield site, you will resolve complex issues, assist with IT projects, and help improve services while developing technical expertise alongside experienced professionals. Start Oct 2026, permanent PT role.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a 2nd Line IT Support, Service Desk, or IT Engineer role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Google Workspace.
• Experience supporting cloud technologies, hardware, software, and user devices.
• Understanding of networking technologies including Cisco Meraki, LAN/WAN, and web filtering.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and/or Jamf device management.
• Knowledge of IT security, cyber security best practice, and compliance requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Resolve 2nd line IT incidents, service requests, and technical issues.
• Act as escalation point for Service Desk Engineers and support sites across the organisation.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access across Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Google Workspace.
• Support server, network, cloud, telephony, and cyber security environments.
• Configure and deploy laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, and other hardware.
• Manage devices through Microsoft Intune and/or Jamf.
• Investigate recurring issues, identify root causes, and contribute to service improvements.
• Assist with IT projects, technology rollouts, and maintenance of technical documentation.
