Job summary

Mystic Cruises seeks an experienced 2nd Engineer to join our shipboard team aboard VASCO DA GAMA. You will maintain the engine room watch, operate Main and Auxiliary Engines and lead safe machinery operations during sea, anchorage and port calls.

Requirements include STCW95, CoC A-III/1 and prior experience on passenger ships, preferably with Wartsila engines. Visa/medical checks and English proficiency are essential for crew safety and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as 2nd Engineer on ships, with watchkeeping duties.
• Valid STCW95 and CoC A-III/1 certificates.
• Experience on passenger vessels and with Wartsila engines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as Chief Engineer's representative during Engine Room watch and supervise the on-watch team.
• Operate and maintain Main and Auxiliary Engines and perform routine maintenance.
• Lead safe operations and ensure compliance with ISM, SOLAS and company policies.
• Monitor engine control systems, keep logs and coordinate with other departments.
• Ensure fuel, lubricants, spare parts and safety equipment are properly maintained.
