Job summary

V.Group is seeking a skilled 2nd Engineer (watch keeper) to join the crew of the cruise vessel Vasco da Gama. This contract is for 4 months with possible extension, embarking ASAP.

You will maintain an safe engine room watch and supervise engine room operations while at sea, in port or at anchor. The role requires STCW95, CoC A-III/1, and extensive experience on passenger ships, preferably with Wärtsilä engines.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Valid CoC A-III/1.
• Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
• Extensive experience on passenger ships in a similar role.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Proficient reading of technical drawings and manuals.
• Public Health/Coast Guard/MLC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe engine room watch at sea, at anchor and in port.
• Operate and maintain Main and Auxiliary engines.
• Lead engine room operations and monitor control systems.
• Plan and oversee repairs/maintenance per policies and regulations.
• Coordinate with technical teams and hotel department.
