Job summary

Zest Education is seeking a patient and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil at a Sutton Coldfield primary school. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with an immediate start for the right candidate.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to tailor learning activities, monitor progress, and support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or classroom setting.
• Caring, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to contribute to school community.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil throughout the school day.
• Support the child in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
• Adapt and modify learning resources to suit the child's learning needs and ability level.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to implement learning strategies and interventions.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support the child's emotional wellbeing.
• Promote development of social skills, confidence, and independence.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
• Support during classroom lessons, group activities, breaktimes, and transitions.
• Build a positive relationship with the child and their family where appropriate.
• Maintain safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.
