Job summary

Zest Education is seeking a patient and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil at a Sutton Coldfield primary school. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with an immediate start for the right candidate.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to tailor learning activities, monitor progress, and support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development throughout the day.

Are you a patient, nurturing, and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference to a child's educational journey?

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Sutton Coldfield. This is a full‑time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with an immediate start available for the successful candidate.

This rewarding role will involve supporting a child within a Year 2 classroom who is currently working below age‑related expectations and requires additional support to access learning and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the child develop academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCO, and wider school staff to provide tailored support designed around the individual needs of the child. You will be responsible for adapting learning materials, encouraging engagement in classroom activities, and helping to build the child's confidence and independence.

The ideal candidate will understand that every child learns differently and will be able to use their creativity, patience, and adaptability to ensure the pupil remains motivated and supported throughout their learning journey.

Desirable Requirements

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare, Teaching Assistant, or Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification.
• Experience supporting children with additional learning needs.
• Knowledge of intervention strategies that support literacy and numeracy development.
• Experience providing 1:1 support within a primary school environment.
