Job summary

The Catch-Up Academy seeks compassionate In-Person Tutors to support students who are currently unable to attend school due to SEN, mental health, or behavioural challenges. You will deliver personalised 1:1 tuition during school hours and help learners re-engage with learning.

This role offers flexible, term-time work with a rewarding focus on rebuilding confidence, independent work, and close collaboration with parents and schools to track progress.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or teaching children, especially with SEN/SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one and safeguarding knowledge.
• Own driving licence and access to transport for travel to student locations.
• Able to work 1:1 and manage a flexible timetable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition sessions during school hours (9:00–15:00, Mon–Fri).
• Work with students who are out of school, often in homes or community settings.
• Support learners across core subjects using personalised teaching methods.
• Log student outcomes and feedback to track progress.
• Communicate with parents, schools, and support professionals to promote progress.
