Job summary

The Catch-Up Academy is seeking compassionate In-Person Tutors to support children and young people who are unable to attend school due to SEN, behavioural challenges or mental health difficulties. You will provide 1:1 academic support in students' homes or community settings, helping them re-engage with learning and rebuild confidence.

Hours are typically 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with about 15 hours weekly and potential for extra hours with more students.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring or teaching children, especially those with SEN or SEMH needs.
• Ability to build rapport with learners who face behavioural challenges.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS and safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition during school hours (9:00–15:00, Mon–Fri).
• Support students who are out of school, often at home or in community settings.
• Provide tailored academic support across key subjects (English, Maths, Science).
• Track progress and communicate with parents/carers, schools, and other professionals.
• Log student outcomes to support each learner’s journey.
