Job summary

Academics in Camden is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils. The role is full-time and temporary, starting October 2026, with training and close collaboration with the class teacher to tailor activities.

The successful candidate will be patient, calm and proactive, helping pupils thrive academically and emotionally, promote inclusion, monitor progress, and contribute to a positive, welcoming school community.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with pupils.
• Calm, patient and proactive approach to learning and behaviour support.
• Available full time from January for the duration of the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning activities and resources.
• Support engagement, focus and positive behaviour using agreed strategies.
• Encourage independence, confidence and inclusion within the classroom.
• Monitor progress and feedback observations to teaching staff.
