Job summary

Academics is partnering with a Monmouthshire primary school to recruit a friendly Teaching Assistant who will support classroom delivery and individual learners. You will work alongside experienced staff to help pupils become more confident and independent throughout the school day.

The role focuses on assisting the class teacher, supporting groups and individuals, and promoting positive behaviour while building strong relationships with children and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Appropriate EWC registration.
• Two recent professional references.
• Willingness to complete our registration process.
• Previous experience working with children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with daily learning activities.
• Working with individuals and small groups.
• Helping pupils stay focused and engaged with their work.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and independence.
• Providing additional support to pupils.
• Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation.
• Supporting pupils during transitions, break times and other activities.
• Developing positive relationships with children and staff.
