Job summary

Prospero Teaching are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support autistic children on a 1:1 basis in a Bournemouth area school.

Applicants should have UK classroom experience and qualifications such as QTS/PGCE/EYTS/NVQ; safeguarding training is desirable. The role is full-time, long-term with a start ASAP and hours 8:00am–4:00pm.

Qualifications

• Experience working with autistic students (ASD) in a UK school setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEND and ASC needs.
• Ability to provide individualised, one-to-one support within a classroom.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for autistic students in the classroom.
• Assist with behaviour management and safeguarding during activities and lessons.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individual education plans.

Are you an experienced Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Autism (ASD) on a 1:1 basis?

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work with autistic children in a fantastic school located in the Bournemouth area.

We work in partnership with schools across the Bournemouth area who require compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistants with experience supporting children with Autism and additional learning needs on a one-to-one basis.

Experienced Teaching Assistants, as well as candidates looking to develop their career within SEND education, are always welcome to apply.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYTS, NVQ, Cache or equivalent


• Previous experience working in a UK school


• Experience working with SEND students, particularly those with ASD


• A genuine interest in supporting children with ASD and complex learning needs


• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training for this can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK


• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application


• Provide two professional, child-related references
