Job summary

Lancashire County Council, in a rural primary school near Preston, is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting as soon as possible.

You will provide 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with ASD, aiding learning, communication and emotional development throughout the school day. Experience with Speech and Language interventions is a plus. Immediate start available, with a welcoming environment and opportunities to make a real difference.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly ASD.
  • Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Experience delivering or supporting Speech and Language interventions (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with ASD.
  • Support the pupil's learning, communication and emotional development throughout the day.

Summary LTAare currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistantto join a welcoming rural primary school near Preston on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with an ASD diagnosis. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the child's learning, communication, and emotional development throughout the school day. The pupil also requires daily Speech and Language support, so experience working alongside Speech and Language programmes would be advantageous.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working within Key Stage 2
  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly ASD
