Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join a Pendle primary school from September 2026. The role involves supporting learning across KS2, assisting the class teacher, and helping create an inclusive classroom environment.

Summary We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Pendle from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the educational journey of pupils while working as part of a committed and friendly team.

Position Details
  • Role: KS2 Teaching Assistant (TA2 or TA3)
  • Location: Pendle, Lancashire
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 3:30pm
The Role
  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classes.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to support pupil progress.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Has previous experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is motivated, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
