Job summary

Mary Rush Care Ltd in Hassocks is recruiting female 1:1 support workers to assist a young woman with a mild learning disability and epilepsy in her home and in the community.

Roles include driving to activities, promoting independence, personal care where needed, and monitoring wellbeing. Full and part-time hours available with permanent and zero-hours contracts; DBS paid and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting someone with epilepsy.
• Promoting independence and daily living skills.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in an emergency.
• Willingness to undergo training to support with medication.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred 1:1 support at home and in the community.
• Support college, social and leisure activities.
• Encourage independence and everyday living skills.
• Support with personal care where required.
• Provide attentive support in relation to epilepsy and seizures.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in wellbeing or emergencies.
• Support with medication once trained and authorised.
• Complete accurate records and work closely with family and the wider support team.
