Job summary

Mary Rush Care Ltd is opening a brand-new 1:1 support service in Hassocks and is seeking an experienced, caring Team Leader to support a young woman with a mild learning disability and epilepsy. The role focuses on home and community support, medication assistance, and leading a small team to promote independence as she settles into her new home.

You will engage in college and social activities, manage risk and safeguarding, and ensure high-quality, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a care or support team.
• Experience with learning disabilities and epilepsy.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Female applicants only for this role per Genuine Occupational Requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred 1:1 support at home and in the community.
• Support college, social, leisure and community activities.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity and confidence.
• Provide personal care and medication support where required and authorised.
• Support with epilepsy and seizure management, responding appropriately to emergencies.
• Lead by example and support other team members.
• Follow and maintain support plans, risk assessments and records.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, family and professionals.
• Help ensure safe, consistent support in line with company policies.
• Support staff development and day-to-day practice.
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
• Experience with medication and care planning.
