Job summary

UKCIL Ltd in Dunstable (LU5) seeks a dedicated Personal Support Assistant to provide 1-to-1 care for a young adult with SEN and epilepsy. You will manage daily routines from morning to evening, administer routine and emergency medication, prepare meals, and provide safe transport to and from a daily work placement.

Responsibilities include following the structured timetable, logging medication, driving to placements, supporting tasks at work, and ensuring meals meet dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working 1-to-1 with SEN young adults or health/social care settings.
• Trained in Epilepsy Awareness and Administration of Rescue Medication (e.g., Buccal Midazolam) or willing to undertake training prior to start.
• Clean, valid Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle suitable for transport.
• Highly punctual, calm under pressure, organized, patient, and proactive in maintaining boundaries and routines.
• Enhanced DBS check funded by employer.

Responsibilities

• Routine & Schedule Management: Follow and enforce the individual’s daily timetable, maintaining consistency and transitions.
• Medication Administration: Administer daily routine oral medication on schedule and maintain logs; monitor for seizure activity.
• Transport: Drive the individual to and from work placement and activities.
• Work Placement Support: Provide 1-to-1 supervision and support at the workplace.
• Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners per dietary needs.
