Nursing Direct are seeking an experienced Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a young adult male in his own home in St Helens, Merseyside. The role focuses on ASD/ADHD, sensory challenges, and behaviours of concern, helping the client live safely, build life skills, and engage in community activities.

The successful candidate will work with the support team to deliver patient, compassionate care, follow individual plans, and promote independence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people/adults with ASD and ADHD.
• Ability to provide patient, empathetic, and consistent support.
• Clear Enhanced DBS check.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• PMVA training (or willingness to complete).
• SOCA/SOVA training (or willingness to complete).

Responsabilités

• Provide daily support with personal care, including dressing, hygiene, and appearance.
• Assist with meal preparation and safe nutrition.
• Help with shopping, budgeting, and managing finances.
• Support with household tasks and maintaining a safe environment.
• Administer and/or prompt prescribed medication.
• Support access to community, leisure and recreational activities, encouraging independence.
• Promote healthy routines, decision-making, and life skills.
• Collaborate with professionals and the wider support team to ensure consistent care.
• Apply de-escalation strategies when required and follow agreed support plans.
