Job summary

Oakwood Academy in Ellesmere Park, Eccles is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 to provide 1:1 support for pupils with medical needs and complex learning requirements. You will join a dedicated team focused on promoting independence, confidence and inclusive learning.

The post is permanent, full-time, 32.5 hours per week during term time plus 5 inset days, with a pro-rated salary in the £19,276 range. Experience with autism or sensory needs is desirable.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy to support learning.
• Caring, positive and flexible attitude with willingness to work independently and use initiative.
• Ability to work flexible hours as appropriate.
• Desirable: Previous experience working with pupils with autism and sensory needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a range of pupils with specific medical needs, physical disabilities and a range of learning and complex needs.
• Work as part of a team to promote learning, independence and confidence for students.
