Job summary

Heywood Academy is seeking a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Heywood. The role sits on the NJC salary scale at point 3, with a full-time, full-year salary package listed as £24,796 per annum and an actual salary of £21,208 plus SEN allowance of £1,539.

The post starts ASAP and supports pupils with ASC and related needs through a tailored education approach. The successful candidate will work 36 hours 40 minutes per week across 195 days per year, joining a Trust-wide

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour and complex needs.
• Nurturing and empathetic approach to behaviour management.
• Experience in settings with ASC/SLCN would be advantageous.
• Ability to monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to stakeholders.
• Ability to differentiate interventions within the curriculum for individual learners.
