Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking a caring Year 1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD in a Sutton primary school. The role focuses on enabling learning, social and communication development, and individual targets within a nurturing, inclusive environment.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement EHCP targets, adapt activities, monitor progress, and contribute to reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD and communication needs.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in similar support roles.
• Understanding EHCPs and SEND strategies.
• Patient, nurturing and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with ASD.
• Support a pre-verbal child using visual aids and structured routines.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's needs.
• Promote engagement, independence and social interaction.
• Work with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement EHCP targets.
• Monitor progress and contribute to reviews and observations.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
