Job summary

A welcoming primary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team and support a child in Year 2 who has ASD. You will provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping with learning, communication and confidence while promoting independence.

Experience with ASD or additional needs is highly valued, and familiarity with PECS or Makaton would be ideal. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a positive, inclusive learning

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD or additional needs.
• Ability to provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the day.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 child with ASD.
• Assist learning, communication, social development and independence.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and support team to implement plans.
